چکیده

nloaded kground: The zinc finger transcription factor Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) regulates numerous logic processes, including proliferation, differentiation, and development. Studies also showed that is involved in tumorigenesis and somatic cell reprogramming. Here, we aimed to assess whether is a prognostic indicator for colon cancer. thods: Levels of KLF4 were measured by immunohistochemical analysis of a tissue microarray contain7 independent colon cancer sections. Univariate data analysis was done in addition to construction of ariate models with several clinicopathologic factors to evaluate KLF4 as an independent predictor of al and cancer recurrence (disease-free survival). ults: Colon cancer tissues had significantly overall lower KLF4 levels compared with noncancer tissues .0001). Using logistic regression, a trend was noted for decreased odds of KLF4 expression in higher of tumors. In univariate and multivariate analyses, KLF4 was a significant predictor of survival and ence. clusions: KLF4 expression is significantly downregulated in colon cancer, and loss of KLF4 is an ndent predictor of survival and recurrence. indepe Impact: These findings suggest that KLF4 may serve as a prognostic biomarker for colon cancer. Prognostic Value of Lymph Node Ratio in comparison to Lymph Node Metastases in Stage III Colon Cancer

Background & Objectives: Colon cancer is currently of high incidence and mortality rate. Identifying the factors influencing its prognosis can be very beneficial to its clinical treatment. Recent studies have shown that lymph nodes ratio can be considered as an important prognostic factor. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of this factor on the prognosis of the ...

عوامل مؤثر بر بقاء بیماران مبتلا به سرطان کولورکتال با استفاده از توابع مفصل

Background & objectives: Competing risk data is one of the multivarite survival data. Competing risk data can be modelled using copula function. In this study we propose a bayesian modelling approach of competing risk data using the copula function. Methods: We used the data from colorectal cancer registyrarty in Tehran. After constructing likelihood function using Clayton copula by choosing app...

Immunoscore® as a predictor of response to chemotherapy in stage II and stage III colon cancer

Background No biomarker has been validated so far to predict the need for adjuvant chemotherapy in Stage II colon cancer (CC), and current guidelines, e.g. NCCN, only rely on the identification of high-risk features such as MSI, pathological tumor characteristics or expected chemotherapy efficacy/safety ratio in each individual patient. In contrast, adjuvant chemotherapy is recommended for all ...

Prognostic value of preoperative prognostic nutritional index and its associations with systemic inflammatory response markers in patients with stage III colon cancer

BACKGROUND The prognostic nutritional index (PNI) has been widely applied for predicting survival outcomes of patients with various malignant tumors. Although a low PNI predicts poor prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer after tumor resection, the prognostic value remains unknown in patients with stage III colon cancer undergoing curative tumor resection followed by adjuvant chemotherapy...

PAK6 increase chemoresistance and is a prognostic marker for stage II and III colon cancer patients undergoing 5-FU based chemotherapy

p21-Activated kinase 6 (PAK6) has been implicated in radiotherapy and docetaxel resistance. We have further evaluated PAK6 as a predictor of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) treatment response in colon cancer. Here we report that in colon cancer PAK6 promotes tumor progression and chemoresistance both in vitro and in vivo. In the clinical analysis, PAK6 was overexpressed in 104 of 147 (70.75%) stage II an...
